Mandarin Learning

Mandarin is a vital part of the House on the Hill curriculum. We strive to instil a love of the language for each child through engaging and stimulating lessons that will help them achieve a native level of fluency by the time they graduate.

01
Fostering Lifelong Language Learning
Our dedicated educators create engaging Mandarin learning experiences that foster emotional connection and cultural appreciation.

Through interactive lessons, we keep students motivated, confident, and engaged, while building their skills across listening, speaking, reading and writing. Our approach blends stories, books, poetry and games to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
02
Immersive, Daily Mandarin Use
Unlike programmes where Mandarin is confined to a single session, we integrate the language meaningfully across the day.

From greeting routines and conversations during snack time, children encounter Mandarin in natural, purposeful settings, helping them master it with confidence.
03
Bilingual Environment with Native Speakers
Led by passionate, native-speaking educators trained in Montessori methodology, our Mandarin programme offers authentic exposure to pronunciation, tone and expression.

This bilingual environment ensures children hear and use both English and Mandarin throughout their day, promoting balanced language development and strong communication skills.

Additional Programme

天天向上
(Tian Tian Xiang Shang)

We provide 天天向上 (Tian Tian Xiang Shang), an elective afternoon Mandarin immersion programme designed to enhance language learning.

This engaging half-day experience immerses children in a Chinese-speaking environment, offering ample time for cultural activities and language practice. Positive feedback from both children and parents highlights the programme’s effectiveness in fostering natural and confident language use.

Home Connection

Bringing Mandarin Home

Real-life experiences breathe life into language learning. Our teachers offer personalised guidance to extend learning at home, sparking interest in Mandarin based on each student’s unique personality and passions. This approach motivates students to pursue Mandarin beyond the classroom.
